Kensium BPO Assists Energy Company with Complex Paper/Electronic Data Coding Project

Kensium BPO was able to provide a team of dedicated document coders to support a long term project consisting of dozens of complex and interrelated document types, both paper and electronic.

About Client: The client is a provider of Document Services, eDiscovery and Litigation Readiness services to a large energy provider.

Challenge: The client was initially working with another lit support company on a complicated coding matter that involved 55 document types, delivery of PDFs in a client specific file format, a near dupe process involving both paper and electronic documents, and document type specific custom coding with various fields. This company was not able to meet the needs of the client in terms of project understanding, project communication and quality. After trying the competition for 15 weeks without success, the client approached Kensium to understand our coding process, team and our extensive quality and production systems we offer. The client chose Kensium, shared training material and followed up with a 5-step qualification test.

Solution: Kensium dedicated a team of 50 coders and 3 project managers on the project within 4 days of the first meeting with the client. The project managers and the core team underwent 2 weeks of rigorous training and qualified in all 5 of the test exercises given by the client. These Kensium project managers were also part of a daily 30-minute QC call with client project managers to resolve volume specific queries that came up during production phase. Pleased with the progress Kensium made with the LDD and coding process in such a short time, the client asked Kensium to develop a custom near dupe application that can be run on both paper and ESI documents. The coding involved information about various types of energy related projects and artifacts.

Results: Kensium BPO effectively and quickly demonstrated its ability to understand complex matters involving the inter-dependency of different document types and their attributes. Kensium brought to bear its extensive experience with litigation support along with its deep bench of IT skills to deliver a high quality and timely solution for the client.
